Beyond the Practice Room: Using tech for more than assessment
That’s a dangerous way of assembling a bassoon. If your seat strap slides or breaks, your bassoon will fall to the floor. Instead, place the boot joint directly on the floor. Once the bassoon is assembled, you can attach the seat strap to it.
Thank you I started as a trumpet and this year I wanted to try Tenor Sax and I find this very good (I made my first sound ☺)
12:52 captions for me say pit Cecattos.
Excellent video overall.
11:14 vuaaaaaat?
Don’t turn on captions at 0:10
I wonder if he’s ever used his real boner
My clarinet it’s made out of full wood
My notes are horrible on my clarinet the only notes I know how to play on the clarinet is A and B
I have had an alto clarinet (Bundy?) for years - bought in a pawnbrokers for peanuts. Hated it. Then I bought a Vandoren mouthpiece that really brought it to life. It even takes alto sax reeds! Playing on a strap doesn't work - ergonomics rivalling C-Melody sax - so I fitted a peg with a home made extension to allow me to play seated or standing. I had trouble with the second register until I stopped using the register key above the G. The altissimo, using my bass clarinet fingerings, gives me at least a second altissimo E, which has the mice scurrying for cover. I can understand why the original owner junked it, but that mouthpiece, and experimenting with the register key made it a bargain buy.
Euphonium is the best instrument in existence.
Thank you so so much! ❤️ I needed this....👍 More! Please! 🙏🏻
me, a trombone player: 👁️👄👁️
I found this video to be very confusing because I couldn't figure out who the audience is supposed to be. Little kids? Adults? He just sounds like he's talking down to everybody.
One thing NOT to do that he does: leave your water cup right by your feet.
"I strongly recommend that you thoroughly soak your reed... but not too much." Does anyone have any idea what that means? Well, I noticed that he put the reed in the water at 1:10 and then took out at 16:30. That's over 15 minutes in water. It's way too long!
Hello Simon, You were at the top of the UA-cam so I listened. What an excellent teacher you are. For a pro to go over the basics so clear without making me feel dumb. Excellent job!!!! I an an accordionist, Hammond B3 and piano player and I also taught myself trumpet. My friend's Father use to play in big bands. My friend asked me if I would like his Dad's clarinet. I said YES!!! I LOVE clarinet!!!! I just got it back from being rebuilt and polished. It is a 1945 Penzel Mueller Empire State made in Long Island City, N.Y. I am anxious to get playing and you made it so clear how to do so!!!!! Thank you so much!!!!! ...How do you feel about synthetic reeds? The repairman suggested getting a soft synthetic reed to begin on. Thanks again!!!!!!
when I create a song it automatically makes it flute, how do I change it to violin
I've been playing for 5 years why am i wasting my time
i found a clarinet in my basement and im trying to play it
I don’t have tenor and probably won’t get it but I am still watching this
A waste of time
Sir u are the finest person a real master great work displayed by u keep it up congratulations
Me who’s been playing saxophone for 2 years watching this to make sure I’m doing it right 💀
I am very glad a nice explanation how to play with trombone 🤝 Sorry to say that I am not expart of English language 😢 Thank you
If you're fingers are not firmly covering the hole, I've discovered that there will be an issue with the sound, so please make sure you do that. I've been playing piano for 5 years, and I'm self-teaching myself incredibly fast with the Standards of Excellence books how to play, the only issue is I can't seem to get the right sound out of the Clarinet. I think it sounds perfect, but the other Clarinetist in my house is either jealous or I am stupid.
that really helped me decide if i should get a clarinet and I’m going to get a clarinet i am prepared for even years of learning to play...❤❤👍🏽
THANK YOU! IM IN GRADE 4 SND IM TRYING TO LEARN, THIS HELPED ALOT!! ❤❤
Thank You for being thorough in this approach!
You are musician?
How do you add instruments to the quick creation?
why did you say on this video
my teacher likes to warm my reed in their mouth form me
*PromoSM* ☀️
Are triplets ever going to be added to the make music platform? I feel that is one of the few things holding me back on this platform.
Hello, can you please clarify what you mean? This is one exercise from a larger series, other exercises cover other fundamentals and rhythms. If you're referring to a different feature of the MakeMusic Cloud platform, you can write triplets and other rhythms in Compose, or add/remove triplets as an option in generated exercises in Sight Reading Studio. Our support team can best assist with any questions you may have, you can contact them at bit.ly/SmartMusicSupport. Thanks!
@makemusiccloud The problem is I currently do not know how to add triplets in compose. I tried researching the topic, but I couldn't find much information about triplets, or more specifically, how you add them to your projects. I am wondering if I am just not aware of the triplets feature or if it don't exist.
Excellent, concise introduction!
You are musician?
thanks so much i stooe my friends clarient and now im in college learning how to play the clarinet because of this video 😢😢😢🎉🎉🎉 ur so amazing
Great stuff Doc,
In the compose, is it possible to change the instrument?bc mine is stuck on flute
Hello! You can change the instrument on a staff after starting a composition by selecting "Score" from the menu bar, click in the "staves and measures" tool, the selecting the staff you wish to change. An option on the left side of the screen will allow you to change the instrument for that staff. Here's an article with more details: smartmusic.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/15135417248663-Changing-Verifying-Instruments-after-Importing-to-Compose
Thanks for this, Tim. I'm curious about MakeMusic. Is it a good tool for writing drum notation?
Totally! All the notation you see at the link in the description can all be created directly in MakeMusic cloud. And the practice function features are really cool.
Band or orchestra? I play it in jazz band dude 💪💪
When you get a piece of sheet music, do you have to transpose it for the tenor sax?
Not a single note blown in this video.......Next.
Rear embouchure
I am inventing ways of playing these grooves on the cajon and I am very thankful you did this video. Thank you so much. Excellent!
So glad to hear that!
